MACOS 14+ · MENU BAR · ON-DEVICE

Into the menu bar,
once and done.

A disk image, a single line in the terminal, or Homebrew. However it arrives, Ginkgo settles into the menu bar—and the free tier already gives you the full copy → insight → adopt loop.

THREE WAYS IN

Drag it in, type one line, or brew

All three paths install the same Ginkgo—pick whichever feels like home.

01

Disk image

Download the DMG, open it, and drag Ginkgo into Applications.

Direct download of the latest build.

02

One command

Paste this into Terminal: the installer fetches the latest release, places Ginkgo in Applications, and opens it for you. Prefer this path if you want to skip Gatekeeper on first launch.

curl -fsSL https://ginkgo-downloads.certimate.me/releases/latest/install.sh | bash

curl downloads carry no quarantine attribute.

03

Homebrew

Tap the formula-only Homebrew repo, then install the cask. Upgrades pull the same published version as the DMG and install script.

brew tap usual2970/ginkgo && brew install --cask ginkgo

Binaries are fetched from the same download origin.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL

Requirements & the free tier

01

macOS 14 or later. Ginkgo lives in the menu bar, stays out of the Dock, and never steals focus.

02

The free tier includes 200 clips—copying and plug-in insights fully unlocked, no account required.

03

Before you activate a license, Ginkgo makes no network requests at all; history stays on this Mac.

And after 200 clips?

The free tier stops saving new clips but keeps every one you have. $3.99/year or $7.99 once unlocks unlimited history.
